    Hi

    I recently found the paralution package and tried to play around a littel bit.
    I comiler and linked everythin, but the program crashed with the following message:

    base_paralution.cpp:45: paralution::BaseParalution::BaseParalution() [with ValueType = double]: Assertion `_Backend_Descriptor.init == true’ failed.
    Aborted (core dumped)

    I have gcc 4.8.3 on Fedora and mingw 4.8.1 on windows. Both OS have the same problem.
    The problem is triggered by the following line:
    LocalVector test;

    I would be glad if you could help me, it is not very urgent though.

    Regards

    Marcus

    Hi Marcus,

    I think you are missing the initialization of PARALUTION. Insert init_paralution(); before declaring the LocalVector or the other objects. It is a good practice if you put it at the very beginning of your code.

    Let me know if this fixes the problem.

    Best,
    Dimitar
